Most homemade laundry detergents involve grating soap. That was too much work for me, plus, then I had to be careful about finding “edible” soap. This recipe is much easier to make and very effective. No soap means no suds, so you have to let go of the paradigm that you need bubbles to get your laundry clean. You don’t!
1/2 cup Epsom salt
1 1/2 cups baking soda
1 1/2 cups washing soda
1/4 cup sea salt
20-25 drops essential oils (optional)
*choose your favorite scent. Lemon helps brighten laundry, lavender is calming, eucalyptus, mint are favorite scents too.
Directions: Mix all ingredients together and store in a jar or plastic bag. I like to dump everything in a gallon size ziploc and then just shake to mix it, and store as is in the bag. Use a heaping tablespoon for a load of laundry.
